Shōka bacteria – Nitrifying bacteria

Shōka bacteria is a bacterial product containing strains obtained directly from the natural environment. Autotrophic forms of bacteria quickly colonize filter media and begin to multiply in the aquarium substrate. They effectively accelerate the stabilization of nitrogen cycle parameters by reducing ammonia (NH4) and oxidizing nitrite (NO2) to a harmless form. They ensure biological balance in the aquarium. One gram contains as many as 5 billion active bacteria.

Dosage:

In newly set-up aquariums: For every 50 liters of aquarium capacity, sprinkle 1g (1 flat small scoop) onto damp filter media. Wait an hour, then turn on the filter. As a substrate additive: sprinkle of Ganban Power Base for every 50 liters of aquarium capacity, then cover with a layer of Jiban Soil.

After cleaning the filter / Water change: For every 100 l of aquarium capacity, sprinkle 1 g (1 flat small scoop) onto the biological filter media.

In the event of a cyanobacteria infection: Prepare a solution: add 1g (1 flat, small scoop) to every 50ml of aquarium water, mix thoroughly, and draw into a syringe. Remove the cyanobacteria with a suction tube and inject the solution into the areas of cyanobacteria. Before performing the treatment, turn off the filter for approximately 10 minutes.
